Parish Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer
Part-time: 10 hours per week
Salary: SCP12-19 pro rata
Towednack Parish Council is seeking a part-time Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) and is looking to recruit someone with excellent organisational and administrative abilities, and a willingness to learn.
Towednack is a parish in the Hayle & St Ives Community Network area, with a population of c.400. The Parish Council consists of seven Councillors plus the Parish Clerk.
The Clerk/RFO will be responsible for the administration of the business of the Council, ensuring that the Council operates within its financial and legal obligations.
Duties will include:
- Attending meetings on the last Tuesday of each month plus the Annual Parish meeting and any additional meetings required;
- The preparation of meeting agendas and taking accurate minutes of Parish Council Meetings;
- Keeping accurate financial records, banking, payment of accounts and HMRC payments/wages etc
- Taking action on resolutions passed by the Council.
The successful candidate must possess good IT skills, be well organised and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with councillors, the community, Cornwall Council and other stakeholders.
The post holder will principally work from home.
