Cledry Meadow

Work has begun on our Cledry Meadow project. We are hoping that most if not all of the works will be completed by the end of November 2024 but obviously this is subject to the weather. We are very excited by the prospect of having a community space for everyone to enjoy.

The project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Full details of the project and costings are available from the Towednack Parish Clerk.

Community Governance Review - Update on Stage 3
Following an extraordinary meeting of Cornwall Council on 10th December, public consultation is now taking place for the next three months (concluding on 24th March 2020) on the draft recommendations that were agreed at this meeting, and the Council are inviting public feedback on these recommendations.  The recommendation that affects Towednack Parish is as follows:

‘to change the boundary between the parishes of Towednack and Ludgvan in line with Map 1.0’ . a move supported by Ludgvan Parish Council, ‘with no change to any other Community Governance arrangements for Towednack Parish’.

‘Cornwall Council considers that the proposed change would better reflect the identity and interest of the community in that area and secure more effective and convenient community governance.’

Cornwall Council are keen for people to comment, before they reach a final decision in July.  Read more about the consultation process and complete the online survey.  Alternatively, follow the direct link for the survey.

For those who would prefer to comment in person, there is a public meeting taking place on Thursday 20th February at St John’s Hall, Penzance.  There will be a drop in session prior to the meeting from 6.00 – 7.00pm followed by the meeting proper at 7.30pm.  This will give you an opportunity to find out more about the consultation and let Cornwall Council know your views.
